I only have a minute, but I just wanted to put up a quick post to ask you to pray.  Abbey started feeling sick around dinner time last night (Tuesday night) and was complaining that her belly was hurting most of the night.  She wouldn't eat and hardly wanted to pick her head off her pillow.  This afternoon she came down with a fever.  We had to take her to the hospital for them to check her blood and examine her.  She got a dose of antibiotics and we have to go back again tomorrow for her to get a second dose.  They are treating it like it's a bacterial infection in her blood, but we won't know for sure if it is that or a virus for a few days as they are watching her blood in a culture.  They were possibly going to keep us overnight, but the doctor felt o.k. with sending us home by what they saw in her blood tonight.  Please pray that it ends up not being a bacterial infection and that her fever would clear up quickly.  Also, she has eaten next to nothing for over 24 hours, so please pray that her belly would start to feel normal and that she would get her appetite back and start to feel like herself again quickly. Thank you and we'll let you know how she's doing tomorrow.

Prayers are being said for Abby - that her fever goes away, her stomach feels better, that she is able to eat, and for total healing. We pray that you all have a night filled with rest and a tomorrow filled with a happier, healthier Abby.

I am Carol Wilson, Shannon Dorn's mother. I live on Lookout Mt. in northwest Georgia near Chattanooga, Tenn. I have been a prayer warrior for Abbey and your family since the beginning and check your blog site daily for specific prayer requests. Others I know are praying too. Our God is an awesome God and His promises are true! (Our "Praying for Abbey" orange bracelet has a prominent place on our dining table.)

Oh Shelley, Jim and Abbey,
we lift you all up in prayer ! I wanted to share this prayer I found.
Lord Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd of the sheep, you gather the lambs in your arms and carry them in your bosom: We commend to your loving care, Abbey. Relieve her fever and discomfort, guard herfrom all danger, restore to her your gifts of gladness and strength, and raise her up to a life of service to you. Hear us, we pray, for your dear Name's sake. Amen

I love that vision.. Good Shepard of the sheep. I can just see him holding Abbey close to him !
We love you and we are committed to continue praying for all of you...

Shelley,

I am encouraged to hear that you are planning to homeschool Jacob. Please please please consider the following:

Join CHEO (Christian Home Educators of Ohio). There is a fee, but their networking is fantastic, and they have a great convention every summer with home educators from all over the state and workshops and curriculum publishers. It's a great resource. And they will keep you apprised of changes in the law that you *must* comply with.

Also, and perhaps most importantly, PLEASE join Home School Legal Defense Assoc. http://www.hslda.org/Default.asp?bhcp=1
Talk to CHEO b/c I'm pretty sure one gives a discount on dues for joining the other. Please check out the HSLDA website and find out what they can do for you. They're kind of like insurance if you ever should run into a problem with the schools for the homeschooling you're doing.

God bless you for your commitment to your kids. You're an amazing Mom. I'll pray that God gives you grace and strength to do this thing!!

I am praying for your precious child and I just wanted you to know that ever since I saw your page I have thought of Abby and prayed for a quick recovery. As a mother myself I can only imagine your sympathy and aching hurt to make this disease go away. I hope that you find peace and rest and strength also. I have learned in my own life that God is good everyday and he is with Abby every second, fighting this disease and giving her the strength to keep fighting. Abby and your family are in my prayers!!
