We have been thoroughly enjoying our summer! It has been so nice having Jacob home everyday! I wish we could freeze time so summertime could last forever. We've been staying up late and sleeping in every chance we get. We had a great visit with Grandmom and Grandpop and as always, it was hard to see them go! Jim has gotten right back in the swing of things at work :). He is so happy to be back and I am equally as happy for him! Abbey has been feeling good overall. She had a really bad rash on her face for a couple weeks that just cleared up and none of us (including her doctors) can figure out what caused it. It's gone now so hopefully it will stay away. Today was her chemo day and her numbers were good and everything went as planned. We continue trucking along with her treatment, knowing that the end is in sight :). Our hearts are full as we have much to be thankful for, including all of you :). Thanks for checking in!

Happy Father's Day :)

Hope you all had a wonderful day celebrating the dads in your lives :)! We sure enjoyed our day! As you can see, Jim is very loved by all of his peanuts (and by the lady behind the camera too :)!

Before we call it a night, I had to share some very exciting news with you all! I actually have been wanting to share it for the past several days, but we have been busy, busy, busy. Today is a great day to let you all know though since it is Father's Day and it's about Jim and Jim is a Father to many small little ones :). Are you ready??!!

Jim is getting called back to Pepper Pike!!! Woooo Hoooo! (sorry... a little excited here :)! He got a call last week from the Mayor, then the Chief, then a sergeant telling him the great news and he actually is already starting back tomorrow (Monday)! There were several things that happened and fell into place just perfectly for this to be happening now, but that will have to wait for another post. So tomorrow Jim will get his gun and badge back and will be back on the road, doing what he loves to do!

There are not words to tell you the excitement that we've had here and the sense of relief this brings us. For the first couple days after we found out, I had to keep pinching myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Thank you for praying for us and for him to be called back! What a roller coaster these last six weeks have been. One things for sure... God has provided for us amazingly through this time and we are just so thankful for how everything has worked out with this situation :). We will keep you posted on the levy and please continue to pray that it passes so more of the guys can be called back in August!

And one more thing... Would you please pray for some dear friends of ours whose little girl is having surgery tomorrow (Monday)? The little girl's name is Lucy. Please pray for God's protection on her little body and for everything to go perfectly. Thank you! We are praying for you Eckmans :)!!!

Our Little Graduate

A few pics from Jacob's Kindergarten graduation this past Thursday. It was a wonderful night! Jacob received the reading award for his class and we are very proud of his hard work this year. We are walking away from his first year of school with wonderful memories and feeling confident that we have him in the right place. It is so nice to have 1 year under our belts with his schooling. Next year will be easier for all of us when he has to return as we all know what to expect more and he has some wonderful friends to go back to. For now, we are so enjoying having him home all day everyday for summer break!

Their cap and gowns were sooo cute!

Two of his best buds!

I love his smile in this one! My boy :)!

The proud graduate :)

Grandma & Grandpa with the kids :)

Way to go on a job well done Jacob :)! We love you buddy!!

Summer is Almost Here :)

We have lots to look forward to here! Tomorrow will officially kick off summer in our home as Jacob's last day of school is today :)! Tonight he will be graduating from kindergarten. It's so hard to believe that our firstborn is already done with kindergarten.... I have my tissues ready to go! It's amazing how fast this year has flown by and we are so very proud of Jacob for his hard work this year in school and for how he has grown in so many ways.

We are all anticipating the summer ahead! Sleeping in, t-ball games, going to the pool, making smores over our fire pit, cookouts, birthdays, a trip to the shore with grandmom and grandpop, Abbey's dance recital, Jim getting his police job back (hopefully!) to name a few things...

We've had some fires already in our backyard :)

This weekend is Relay for Life. We are excited to once again be a part of it and to walk with Abbey as she takes her survivor lap with 2 balloons this year :)!

A couple pictures from last years Relay for Life :)

And next weekend is Abbey's dance recital. She is beyond excited! Grandmom and Grandpop are coming into town next week from Philly so they will be here for her show. Once again... I will be taking plenty of tissues!

Abbey and her cousin and bff Gracie in their costumes :). Aren't they so precious?!

And a quick update on Jim & Abbey... Jim continues to work Monday through Friday for the exterminating company. He has jumped right into this new job and somedays he is working more than 12 hour days. One things for sure... we will never have to worry about not having food on our table or a roof over our heads. Jim has put his all into this new job set before him and although he is missing his Police work, he is working hard to take care of the 6 of us. We continue to be hopeful that he will be back to policing in Pepper Pike by the end of the summer.

And Abbey has been feeling great! She had clinic last Friday and her numbers were beautiful. She got her monthly chemo in her port and she just finished her 5 days of steroids - yay! We don't have to go back for a whole month :).

Thanks for checking in on us and for your continued prayers for our family! Love to you all :)!
