Abbey

I checked out our site meter last night to see about how many people are checking in with us daily and was excited to see that we had over 600 people stop in to check on us and our Abbey just yesterday.  Thank you so much for stopping in.  We feel blessed beyond words to have many people, both close friends and strangers praying for us and our Abbey and following our journey.  I truly feel that God has used our blog for me to get to know many of you and your situations and for your encouragement to keep us going.  Whenever we get a new follower, I always check out your blog and have enjoyed seeing who you are and getting to know some about your families.  We have some amazing people praying for us.  We love you guys!

I was thinking yesterday how much fun it is to see videos of people because with a picture you can see what a person looks like, but with a video you can see a little of their heart and personality.  I shot these videos of Abbey yesterday and thought they'd be cute to share.  You can get to know our brave little girl and hear her voice and see her smile in these. (remember to pause the blog music before playing)

I have done this in the past, but since we have many new readers, wanted to do it again.  Tell us who you are.  Let us know how you found us and maybe where you're from and something about you.  God has used many of your stories to encourage our hearts and keep us going.

Below is a quote that a friend of mine just gave me.  It has been an encouragement to me today and I wanted to share it with you too.  We have seen God's hand since day one in this situation with Abbey and although hard, we know God has a plan and purpose.  We trust Him and will continue to look up as we go on in this journey. Thank you for being a part of it with us.

There is nothing--no circumstance, no trouble, no testing--that can ever touch me until, first of all it has gone past God and past Christ, right through to me. If it has come that far, it has come with a great purpose, which I may not understand at the moment. But as I refuse to become panicky, as I lift up my eyes to him and accept it as coming from the throne of God for some great purpose of blessing to my own heart, no sorrow will ever disturb me, no trial will ever disarm me, no circumstance will cause me to fret--for I shall rest in the Lord of what my joy is --That is the rest of victory. ~~Alan Redpath, quoted by Elizabeth George.

Thank you so much for sharing your story about your brave little girl. My name is Melissa and I live in California. I have two little boys, 2 1/2 and 10 months. I am incredibly blessed with 2 healthy children, but realize that things can suddenly change and that its beyond our control. I have shared Abbeys story and pictures with my 2 year old, Austin, and we pray for her everynight before bed.

I check in daily and hope to continue to watch your little girl heal, she is an angel and a true inspiration!

Abbey is darling, I enjoyed the videos as well! I'm Kristin from NE and was born with a congenital heart defect and am much too familiar with hospital stays/procedures. I'm 25, married, and doing well. I check in on Abbey daily and she is in in our prayers.

My sister in law sent me a link to your website as I too am a parent of a child with leukemia. As I read your story tears filled my eyes...you are just beginning and I will be praying for you as I know all too well the journey. My little girl was diagnosed three years ago this coming Saturday and she had a bone marrow transplant in Oct. of 2006. I would love to encourage you that savor the daily activities...cherish each smile...love your dear sweet Abbey with every part of your heart and BELIEVE...BELIEVE that God is faithful and He loves your little Abbey.

Praying for healing...praying for strength for each new day...praying for Abbey and her mommy and daddy as well.

Loved the videos of Abbey. I pray for her whenever I look at my orange bracelet. A woman at our church was just diagnosed with Leukemia and we were telling the boys that she had a sickness in her blood. Caleb said, "Oh, like Abbey?" We are a family that loves you all from across the miles. Thanks for continuing to write.

I recently found your page through the TubreQuads page ... I've been following them since they were born and just recently noticed the links on the side to other families! I don't have a page on here but I am a 24 y/o mother of a 4yr old and we are from Louisiana. Nothing really interesting about our little family compared to what a magnificent family you seem to have! I'll start saying a few prayers for you and your family! Abbey seems like SUCH a joy!

What a beautiful little girl you have. Thank you so much for sharing such a difficult journey with us. I pray for your family so often throughout my day. I have two daughters (3 and 4 years old). I just can't even wrap my mind around what you go through each day. Hugs!

What a beautiful little girl (I have an Abby too!). Like you, we are engaged of a battle of our own for our daughter's life, and I am still trying to process everything.

Abbey is in my prayers tonight.

I live in California with my husband and two dogs. My niece's blog had a praying for Abby Riggs link. From there I found the link to your website and when I saw your Abbey I fell in love with her and the Lord put it on my heart to pray for her. Thank you for posting her videos. I count it a privilege to be praying for her. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 12 years ago. It had spread to 28 lympnodes under my arm, and I underwent an experimental treatment which they have since decided does not work after the study was completed. But God does. Here I am by His grace alone.....Praying for Abbey. And for you. God bless your family. I am brand new to blogging so I don't even have my profile up yet, but you can see a little about my life. Please give Abbey a sweet kiss from me, I'm thinking somewhere on that sweet forehead just above the brow would be nice.
