One More Day???

This morning the doctors were doing their rounds.  I stepped out to listen in, as I usually try to do.  Our normal attending doctor was off and there was a new one.  He looked at Abbey's blood results and some other numbers and he felt that we need to stay here another night just to make sure that she's ok to go home.  We are frustrated because our usual attending doctor and many other residents and nurses all felt that we were going home today, but we're glad that the doctor's are being overly cautious so we can be confident that she can be ok at home.

So sorry guys--I know you're anxious to get home. We'll pray that you have a special time together at the hospital tonight and delight in Him despite the circumstances. We continue to pray!

I don't know you, but my friend sent me your blog. I will be praying for you all, and especially for Abbey. Just want you to know know that you are being lifted up by strangers, as well.

shelley and jim,

don't know if you remember us from messiah but i just got this e-mail thru kendra kuhrt and just wanted to let you both know and your whole family, that we will be lifting you all up in prayer as you go thru this hard journey with abbey. i'm so happy to hear how much you are already leaning on our Lord and Savior to see you thru this. He is SOOO good and SOOO amazing and you WILL find strength and peace in Him. Do not doubt His grace and power. It's always hard to understand why He allows these things to happen and i've found thru hard times of my own that we may never know but we can ALWAYS trust in his unfailing love and strength. He is with us and especially with you and abbey always. We will stand in the gap for you and pray for those things which you've asked. May He surround you with His arms and a hedge of protection even now.

i'm a pediatric nurse in lancaster, PA now and i can tell you from experience, parents and families with sick little ones are DESPERATE for answers, DESPERATE for hope and DESPERATE for truth. i pray you and your family will be that source for them even as you struggle yourself with abbey's illness. be real with them. God is Good!!!!

In Christ,

i want to leave you with these verses that i have found so comforting:

Psalm 34:17-19

"The righteous cry out and the Lord hears them, he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles but the Lord delivers him from them all."

I just received the link to your blog along with a prayer request from a very dear friend (Laurel). I just wanted to say that my family will be praying for your precious daughter.
Also, I noticed one of your postings said to pass the prayer request along to others to pray, so I am adding a prayer request to my blog.
Let's all lift Abbey up in prayer!!!
